Aluminum Prices Slightly Rose, Price Difference Between A00 Aluminum and Aluminum Scrap Widened [Daily Review of Aluminum Scrap]

SMM April 24 News: Spot primary aluminum rose by 70 yuan/mt compared to the previous trading day, with SMM A00 spot aluminum closing at 19,980 yuan/mt. Aluminum scrap prices remained largely unchanged from the previous trading day. As the peak season is about to end, orders are affected by marginal demand decline, and raw material purchasing is maintained as needed.

Today, baled UBC aluminum scrap was quoted at 14,950-15,550 yuan/mt (excluding tax), while shredded aluminum tense scrap was quoted at 15,850-17,350 yuan/mt (excluding tax). By product, shredded aluminum tense scrap and wheel hub removed from vehicle, among other aluminum tense scrap products, are in tight supply, with prices remaining unchanged from the previous trading day. 6-series aluminum shavings rose by 200-250 yuan/mt overall.

In the short term, aluminum scrap prices remain high, mainly due to low operating rates among downstream scrap utilization enterprises and tight domestic aluminum tense scrap circulation, which supports aluminum scrap prices. In terms of price differences, the price difference between A00 aluminum and mechanical casting aluminum scrap in Shanghai was 1,861 yuan/mt, while the price difference between A00 aluminum and mixed aluminum extrusion scrap free of paint in Foshan was 1,648 yuan/mt, mainly showing narrow adjustments.
